Testimonies of Love and Faith

Back in January of this year, our family’s life turned upside down in the early hours of Sunday the 12th of January. My fifteen-year-old cousin Shane had been stabbed in the heart. God was with him throughout, while he lay there fighting for his life in the entrance to some flats, giving the strength of voice to his friends who screamed out, alerting a man who lived in the dwellings who was calling the paramedics on his way down. The paramedics arrived and after reviewing the situation it was clear that Shane was in a bad way and needed blood and specialist care. God in his grace, provided that care, with an ambulance doctor that was actually on his way back from another call. Shane was taken to the side of the road and worked on giving him the time that was needed till he arrived at the hospital.
I got the call from my mum around 10am, just as I was getting ready for church, telling me that my little cousin was in a critical state and was undergoing open heart surgery. I was so stunned and after talking to my husband, I left for the Sunday service along with my three children. I prayed all the way in the car “God please let him be ok, let him know your presence” walking into the hall I was greeted by my church family and promptly burst into tears. They were amazing and in one voice prayed for Shane’s safety. Their prayers and love continued and through the darkness Gods light shone. Within the week Shane had made progress and was soon to be out of ICU. Then the bombshell came, his bowel had become obstructed and he had ten percent chance of survival but an almost definite need for a colostomy bag to be fitted. Once again, we prayed and once again, God heard of our voice brought Shane safely out of surgery without the need of a colostomy bag. Within the week Shane was home and with his family. He knows that he was saved by the power of prayer and Gods love alone.

Hi my name is Lisa I was told in October 2019 that I had breast cancer that had spread to my lungs, liver and bones. I was told that it was not curable but it was treatable until treatment stops working. In December I was put on hormone tablets and an injection that I get once a month to stop my ovaries from working as my cancer needs hormones to grow but after having a blood test a few weeks later it showed that things had got worse.my liver was only working 20% and my tumour mark had gone so high that I was told treatment was not working and that I only had a few weeks to live and I was sent home on palatine care. While I was waiting to go home, I had this strong feeling that I need to go to church where my aunt goes. So, when I got home, I phoned my aunt and said can I come to church with you she said yes, I would love you to come so I arranged to go there the following week. On my way there I didn’t feel great I was very tired but I knew I just had to go when I got there everyone was so lovely. After the service my aunt and a lot of people from the church was praying for me, I felt a bit scared at first but I do remember when rick was asking for this cancer to be gone from my body, I felt this warm felling go all through my body. When I left the church, I thought I can’t wait to go back the following day I started reading my bible and just thinking to myself I know god is helping me. 2 weeks later I had to go back to the hospital for a blood test as the doctor looked at my results I could see her looking very strange at the screen she said I don’t know what’s happened but your bloods have improved your liver is much better and the tumour mark has come down. So, a few months after my doctor sent me for a CT scan to see if my tumours were shrinking. I got the results a few weeks ago the tumour in my lung has gone the one in my breast is shrinking my liver is improving and my bones are stable. I know this is all from the help of god and from all the prayers from the church. I do need a full hip replacement has I cannot walk without crutches from the cancer that damaged my hip but if it hadn’t of gone to my hip I wouldn’t of known I had cancer I only went to the doctors in the first place because I had pain in my hip . But Evan then I felt like god was trying to save me as I had been going to my doctors for 6 months with pain and kept getting sent away with pain killers and being told I had sciatica. It was only that I found my own physiotherapist and he told me my doctor needs to give me a x ray as there is something wrong with my hip so that’s how I found out about the cancer I feel great at the moment and hope with the help from god I will get my hip operation done so I can walk again . At the moment surgeons are saying that I cannot have surgery because if I started to bleed, they would not be able to stop it but I do have a good feeling that I will get it done with the help from god. It means so much to me for what god has done for me and for all the prayers from everyone from the church. Thank you so much everyone.
